MULTILINGUAL CAMPAIGN

We started this project by discussing our countries and problems which concerned us. Mental health is one of them. Both in China and Bulgaria, students are not receiving any talks or help regards to this issue. Mental health doesn’t receive any attention neither by teachers nor parents. We decided to make a change. I set up a padlet with Didi to share our research. We found and summarized articles on this aspect of mental health education and investigated the situation of mental health education in China and Bulgaria. But there’s not much information about Bulgaria, and Didi says it’s because Bulgarians don’t care. Academic performance and pressure from family make Chinese students have the highest suicide rate in the world, but most people blame that is because of children’s vulnerability. Also, for students, it is a shame to have mental health problems because their parents and friends do not understand. In Bulgaria, 13 and 15 year old youth report some of the highest rates of alcohol consumption. And there few reports of mental health in this country because people don’t care about it at all. Therefore, we decided to do this campaign to get people in both countries to pay attention to student mental health. And let schools incorporate mental health into their teaching.
